Safety and privacy
Cam sites are not “safe” or “unsafe” as a category. They are high-contact, paid, live chat with strangers. You can cut a lot of the stupid risk. You cannot cut all of it.

Three buckets
Account. A reused password on a site that stores cards is how people lose more than a token pack. Use a unique password and 2FA. Account security basics.
Chat. Public chat is public. Private chat is still on the company’s servers. Do not type a real name, employer, school, or home city. Do not switch to an app the performer (or “viewer”) chose. That is the usual setup for blackmail and fake-payment stories. Scam patterns.
Money. Start small. Read the name that will appear on the bank statement. Chargebacks can close the account and still not get the tokens back.
Viewers
Performers generally do not see your full IP. The platform does. A country or city flag in the room is common. Details: can they see my IP?
If you turn on cam-to-cam, you are no longer just a screen name. Treat that like walking on camera in a shop.
Performers
Rooms get recorded by viewers even when the site says they should not. Backgrounds, mail on the table, and unique tattoos do more to identify you than a username. Device and location privacy.
Age checks and record-keeping are the site’s legal problem and yours. The rules topic is the starting point, not a lawyer.
What people get wrong
They think a VPN makes them invisible. It can hide a home IP from a casual look. It does not hide a card name, a reused password, or a face on cam-to-cam.
They also treat “the performer asked me to” as a safety exception. If the request is “message me on another app and pay there,” it is the same pattern described in the scam guide, whoever asked.
