What spy mode actually means

Three buttons that get mixed up

• Private — you pay by the minute. On some sites other people can still spy.
• Exclusive — you pay more so those extra viewers are not sold.
• Spy — you pay to watch a private that already started.

If the site uses “private” for all three, read the price list, not the marketing word.

If you are the person who started the private

You may be paying for a conversation that has an audience. Ask the performer, or look at the room settings, before you assume you are alone. If that matters to you, use exclusive or pick a site that does not sell spy access.

If you are the spy

You are still spending tokens. You usually cannot steer the show. Disconnects can still eat a minute. Do not treat spy mode as a loophole around the performer’s prices — they often earn from it, and they can disable it.

If you are broadcasting

Say in the bio whether spy is on. A clear line prevents fights in chat and unexpected screenshots. More context: how platforms work and for performers.
